Rashtriya Janata Dal chief Lalu Prasad was on Monday admitted to the Asian Heart Institute here for a medical check-up. “We confirm that Mr. Yadav is admitted for a detailed health evaluation. This is a planned visit,” said a spokesperson for the hospital.
Mr. Prasad is under the observation of cardiac surgeon Ramakant Panda, who had treated former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.“With the family’s permission, we will keep you posted on future developments,” the hospital authorities said.
Dr. Panda said the hospital were in the middle of detailed investigations on Mr. Prasad’s case. “My team will take a call on what course to take tomorrow [Tuesday],” he said in a statement.

Mr. Prasad meanwhile took to twitter to “thank” the people of Bihar for the results of the bypolls in Bihar and said the people had corrected the “mistakes” made by them during the Lok Sabha elections.
“The alliance has got the people’s approval. This is a victory of the majority of Bihar’s people. With a new agenda of social justice and development, this is the beginn-ing of the era of economic justice,” he said.
