Bihar Chief Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi

Bihar Chief Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi on Monday dismissed speculation of his joining the Bharatiya Janata Party and instead invited State BJP leader Sushil Kumar Modi to join his party, the Janata Dal (United).

“Such speculation is 200 per cent false. I’ve said so many times that BJP is a communal party and I’ve always been with the secular forces,” said Mr. Manjhi.

The Chief Minister invited senior State BJP leader Sushil Kumar Modi to join the JD(U). “We’ve worked together for over seven years as NDA government in the State. Why don’t you join the JD(U) … we’ve even majority in the Assembly,” said Mr. Manjhi.
