After a red alert from Intelligence Bureau (IB) to Goa and Bangalore, the Goa police have beefed up security in all sensitive areas, tourist places, bus stands and railway stations in view of threat from ISIS.
North Goa Superintendent of Police Priyanka Kashyap confirmed the development and added that security cover for Chief Minister and others has also been increased.
The police official also said Chabad Houses at Harmal and Anjuna in north coastal Goa, the Jewish community and prayer houses have been provided security on prayer days as requested. Alliance Francaise in Panaji has been the latest to seek security.

When contacted, Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar told The Hindu on Thursday evening that, “though ISIS threat alert has to be definitely taken seriously, I do not think ISIS operations are not spread across the continent.”
