Thousands of school students staged a demonstration on Tuesday demanding punishment for a youth who attempted to rape and murder a 14-year-old student on September 5 at Kanglatongbi in Senapati district of Manipur.
Police raided the house of the accused at Sekmai and arrested K. Shyam.
A case has been registered against him on the basis of complaints by the girl’s parents.
