Puneites tilt bus to rescue trapped boys

September 02, 2014 03:24 am | Updated 03:24 am IST - Pune

Around 50 Pune residents on Monday came together to heave a bus over and save the lives of two youths trapped underneath.

The rousing action was a replay of the public integrity displayed by Australians when, last month, scores assembled to tilt a metro train to release an individual trapped in a platform gap at Perth.

Onlookers said the speeding bus rammed the two motorcycle-borne students and hit a traffic signal before coming to a halt.

Commuters and passersby immediately rushed into action to save the struggling youth.

Crane to the rescue

The good Samaritans held the bus up for precious moments till fire safety officials reached the spot with a crane in tow.

The duo were later moved to a local hospital and is reportedly said to be out of danger.

On August 6, Perth’s citizens were stirred into action after a man slipped down a platform gap while attempting to board a train at Stirling station.
