Prisoner breaks wall,escapes from lock-up

A prisoner escaped from a police lock-up on the district court premises in Bihar’s Gaya district on Monday.

Jacky Ahmed escaped by breaking the wall of the lock-up, which the policemen failed to notice, Deputy Superintendent of Police Akhtar Hussain said.

Ahmed was arrested in a dacoity case from the Sherghati police station area and lodged in a sub-jail, he said.

Raids were being conducted to re-arrest the prisoner, Mr. Hussain said.
