Primary charge sheet filed against Sabyasachi Panda

A primary charge-sheet was filed in Berhampur Sub-Divisional Judicial Magistrate (SDJM) court by the police against Maoist leader Sabyasachi Panda after almost six months of his arrest in the city.

Twenty persons have been named witnesses in the 120-page charge-sheet was filed in court on Monday, and 71 items seized during the arrest of the Maoist leader have been mentioned in it.

Sabyasachi was arrested from a house in Bada Bazar area of Berhampur on the night of July 17, 2014.

He was staying on rent in the house of Chandra Rao, who is now absconding. There were allegations that Rao had close relations with Maoists including Sabyasachi.
