Powerful bombs recovered in Gaya

Police claim bombs were planted by Maoists to disrupt the upcoming polls.

Two powerful bombs were recovered by security forces on Monday from near a primary school in a village in Bihar’s Gaya district.

The bombs were unearthed by sniffer dogs during an operation by the CRPF and the police in Viraj village, under Kothi police station, ahead of the general elections in Gaya parliamentary constituency later this week, Superintendent of Police Nishant Kumar Tiwari said.

The bombs, weighing 20 kg, were defused by the bomb disposal squad, he said, adding that they were planted by Maoists to disrupt the polls.
