One killed as train rams truck in U.P.

The Guwahati -- Delhi Avadh Assam Express rammed a truck at an unmanned level crossing in Barabanki district of Uttar Pradesh on Thursday, killing the truck driver and injuring another.

A police spokesman said the accident occurred around 9.30 a.m. near Nahamau village under the Masauli police station area.

The truck driver, Raj Kishore Yadav, 50, belonged to Devkaha village in Barabanki, while the injured was from Sardhana in Meerut district. He was admitted to hospital. Train traffic was restored later, the police said.

Three days ago, one compartment of the Avadh Assam Express had derailed at Alamnagar in Lucknow. There were no casualties.
