May 31, 2016 12:00 am | Updated 05:41 am IST - NEW DELHI:

Narela railway station, which was recently beautified with street art by the Delhi Street Art group, was inaugurated by MP Udit Raj on Sunday.

“For the past several weeks, volunteer artists from the Delhi Street Art group were involved in creating colourful murals on the station premises by depicting scenes from across the country, images of birds and old steam engines which are no longer visible on tracks today. This has added to the beauty of this station,” said Divisional Railway Manager (Delhi) Arun Arora.

Mr. Raj also laid the foundation of Yatri Prangan at the station. The heritage building of the station will be converted into a passenger lounge following restoration of its antique walls and wood craft ceiling.
