Besides, the DIG was found to have disproportionately acquired 28 immovable properties, spread across the State in Bhopal, Katni, Raisen, Indore and Sagar districts, said Mr. Chaudhary.
The opposition Congress took the opportunity to accuse Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan of encouraging “unparalleled corruption” at all levels of government.
“Saturday’s raids once again show the BJP government has no interest in stopping corruption. In fact, Mr. Chauhan has been protecting and encouraging the corrupt,” the Leader of the Opposition Ajay Singh alleged.

Releasing a list of raids conducted on government officials by enforcement agencies over the last one year, the MPCC said the BJP government had “allowed corruption worth Rs. 969. 50 crore” since November last.
“When low-level government officials have managed to acquire such mind-boggling wealth through corrupt means, imagine the amount cornered by the CM, his ministers and higher bureaucrats,” said Mr. Singh.
