CM to inaugurate scheme on July 2

The students of the government primary and upper primary schools in Rajasthan will get milk in the midday meals thrice in a week under a new scheme for improving nutritional status of children. Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje will inaugurate an “Annapurna Doodh Yojana” on July 2 for supplying milk to schools.

Minister of State for Education Vasudev Devnani said here on Wednesday that the introduction of milk as a supplementary nutritive item would help strengthen the State government’s efforts to improve the health of schoolchildren.

Mr. Devnani has written letters to all elected representatives asking them to render help in the Mid Day Meal scheme’s effective implementation.

After the inauguration of Annapurna Doodh Yojana, which will coincide with the holding of parent-teacher meetings in all government schools, a “milk week” will be observed between July 2 and 9 all over the State.

Nodal officers

Mr. Devnani said the Block Primary Education Officers would act as the nodal officers for getting milk from the registered milk cooperative societies and making arrangements for its supply to schools. In each district, the Annapurna Doodh Yojana will be launched from a selected government senior higher secondary school in the presence of the in-charge Minister and Secretary.
