The half-burnt body of a person from West Bengal was found near a hotel on the outskirts of Rajsamand in Rajasthan on Wednesday and a video showing, purportedly, him being attacked with an axe and set ablaze has gone viral on the social media. The motive of the murder remains unclear.
Police identified the half-charred body as that of Mohammed Afrazul (48), a native of Malda in West Bengal, who worked as a labourer and lived with his family in Rajsamand.
The video also shows the assailant, allegedly local resident Shambhulal Raigar, warning the deceased against cross-community relationships, and making inflammatory statements. A two-wheeler belonging to Afrazul was found at the spot of the crime.

Extra police forces have been deployed in Rajsamand district.
