Mamata’s maiden overseas trip to Singapore

Keen to open dialgoue with Asian countries, West Bengal Chief Minster has embarked on her maiden overseas trip leading a large business delegation to Singapore.

"I am going abroad after 15 years...Let me speak with the Asian countries. A lot can happen through talks. I am hopeful," she has said State Industry and Finance Minister Amit Mitra and the Chief Secretary of the state are accompanying her..

Official sources said that the delegation includes around fifty two business leaders from West Bengal. The Chief Minister will pay a courtesy call to the Prime Minister of Singapore.

On Wednesday, an industry summit will be held. The top business heads of Singapore will be present at the summit. The members of the delegation comprises heads from Kolkata based business houses.
