Lucknow Mail derails in Ghaziabad

One coach of Delhi-bound Lucknow Mail derailed at the Ghaziabad Railway Station on Monday morning. Passengers had a narrow escape as one wheels of an AC-3 coach of the train derailed even as the train was pulling out of the station after a brief stop.

No casualty was reported in the incident, officials said. “The train reached Ghaziabad at 6.20 a.m. A wheel of the coach, located seventh last from the engine, got derailed. The back portion of the train was detached and the train left for Delhi at 7.20 a.m.,” said Northern Railway spokesperson Neeraj Sharma.

The rail traffic, officials said, on the busy Delhi-Kolkata lines was running normally.
