At least five labourers, four of them women, were killed and two seriously injured after they were struck by lightning in Mayurbhanj district on Tuesday.
The victims were working in farm lands near Khunta canal chhak around noon when lightning accompanied by heavy rains struck the area killing the five persons on the spot, a police official said.
The injured were admitted to the district headquarter hospital.
