Haryana Janhit Congress (HJC) chief Kuldeep Bishnoi will be seeking re-election from the Hisar parliamentary constituency.

Mr. Bishnoi, the HJC-BJP alliance candidate, would file his nomination papers this week, a party release said in Hisar on Monday.

The candidate’s name for the Karnal parliamentary seat would be announced on Tuesday, it said.

Earlier, former Union minister and Ambala MLA Venod Sharma, who had quit the Congress recently, was set to join the HJC and contest from the Karnal seat, but the plan had been put on hold after stiff resistance from a section of BJP leaders.

While the HJC is to field its candidates for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls for the seats of Hisar and Karnal, the BJP would contest the remaining eight seats in the State.

The Lok Sabha polls for all ten seats in Haryana are due to be held on April 10.

Meanwhile, the release quoting Mr. Bishnoi said that the HJC-BJP alliance would win all the ten Lok Sabha seats.

“Narendra Modi wave is sweeping the country and common people want to see him as the next Prime Minister,” he said.

He claimed the Congress has lost its credibility in the State as well as in the country and a number of its leaders who were disillusioned with the party were deserting it.
