Ahead of the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, senior Janata Dal (United) leader and Rajya Sabha MP Shivanand Tiwary is showing signs of rebellion.
In an angry letter to JD (U)'s State president Bashishtha Narayan Singh, the disgruntled leader expressed disappointment over Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's high-handedness in running the affairs of the party.
Referring to Mr. Kumar, the letter sent on Wednesday states, "How can I contest elections for a person who dislikes me to the point of hatred?...I know well that Mr. Kumar wants me to contest because he wants to see me defeated and not because he wants me to win."

The letter comes in the wake of reports that the State party chief had issued an ultimatum to Mr. Tiwary to convey his decision on contesting in the Lok Sabha polls from the Buxar seat.
Mr. Tiwary also objected to the "manner and tone" of Mr. Kumar's directive. During a function on January 24, Mr. Kumar threw a surprise by appointing new faces for the Rajya Sabha over current MPs Mr. Tiwary, Sabir Ali and NK Singh.
Mr. Kumar also took a dig at Mr. Tiwary saying those who say the party is weak should fight elections.

"At the party's meet in Rajgir, only I had said that the party is getting weaked due to the way it is being run. Then why were the other two MPs sidelined?" Mr. Tiwary asks in the letter.
