Jawans escape Maoist-triggered blast in Jharkhand

Maoists on Thursday triggered a landmine blast when a vehicle carrying some security force personnel was passing through Kiriburu hill top in Jharkhand’s West Singhbhum district bordering Orissa, police said.

“Glass panes of the vehicle cracked under the impact of the blast. However, there was no report of any injury,” SP A K Singh said.

The vehicle was ferrying Cobra jawans, he said.
