The CPI (M)’s Sangharsh Sandesh Jatha, has demanded an in-depth probe into the various land deals of Robert Vadra, son-in-law of Congress president Sonia Gandhi.
The Jatha is currently passing through Haryana, where the party’s Polit Bureau member Brinda Karat had been addressing a series of meetings in Bhiwani, Meham, Tosham and Rohtak.
She alleged that Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda was acting as a real estate dealer and not the head of the State, adding that an impartial inquiry would establish the facts.

Ms. Karat condemned the arrest of CPM workers at Rohtak when they were protesting against the inauguration of an agro mall reportedly being handed over to Bharti Walmart. She said the Hooda government should be under no illusion that just because the UPA manipulated a majority in Parliament to pass the FDI in retail bill, people would silently accept it.
Later speaking to The Hindu , Ms. Karat said following the fracas with the CPI (M) workers, the Jatha, which has several parliamentarians, was surprised to find that the bookings for the participants at the Rohtak circuit house were cancelled. “This is sheer vindictiveness of the Hooda administration and most shameful conduct,” she said. The party workers had demanded action against the guilty officials failing which there would be an agitation.
She also raised the issue of exclusion of several thousands from the BPL category.
