ILP issue: Manipur CM calls for all-party meet

Chief Minister Okram Ibobi informed the Manipur Assembly on Monday that a meeting of all political parties will be convened on August 14 on the demand for the reintroduction of the Inner Line Permit in Manipur. Making a statement he said that if need be he will lead a team to offices of the Prime Minister and the Home Minister. He also asked the leaders of the civil societies to join the team.

Mr. Ibobi said that his government took the issue very seriously. The House had already taken two resolutions on the Inner Line Permit demand and had sent memorandum to the central leaders.

He also appealed to the activists not to rope in students in the protest.
