Says it will pass appropriate order on August 21

Security worry: Amit Shah addresses BJP workers at Dabolim airport in Goa on July 1.

PANAJI: The Bombay High Court at Goa came down heavily on the Airports Authority of India (AAI) on Wendesday for allowing BJP national president Amit Shah’s public meeting at Goa’s Dabolim Airport on July 1.

A Division Bench comprising Justices G.S. Patel and Nutan Sardessai was hearing a petition on the matter.

The court said it would pass appropriate orders on August 21, while observing that there should never ever be such a repeat violation of the law at the airport.

The petitioner, Advocate Aires Rodrigues, has sought that the rule of law should be upheld by holding an inquiry to fix the responsibility and take action against the organisers and those responsible for the public meeting within the high security premises of the airport.

Mr. Shah had addressed members of the State BJP unit at the airport after arriving in Goa.
