A village panchayat in Goa has “banned” kissing in public, arguing that “such an obscene behaviour” by some couples and holidayers creates nuisance.

The Salvador do Mundo village panchayat, near the State capital Panaji, recently passed a resolution, banning kissing in public, besides consumption of liquor and playing music aloud in the open.

“We adopted the resolution since we have been getting complaints from the locals about the obscene behaviour,” deputy sarpanch Reena Fernandes said.
