Four killed in Uttarakhand mishap

Four persons including a minor girl died and two injured when the utility vehicle carrying them fell into a gorge in Chakrata area of Dehradun district, police said on Saturday.

The accident occurred late last night on Koti-Pipra-Minas road when the utility vehicle was coming from Begi village towards Vikasnagar and fell into a deep gorge killing four persons on the spot and leaving two others including the driver injured, Chakrata SHO Pradip Pant said.

The injured were rushed to Chakrata community health centre where their condition is improving, he said.

The deceased have been identified as Sharmili, Chatar Sing, Tumman and Balvir while the injured have been identified as Ayatu and Manda, he said. - PTI
