Four people were injured in a fight between some law students and a family outside a restaurant here, the police said on Sunday as the Akali Dal and the local Bar Association took sides over the clash.
Shiromani Akali Dal president Sukhbir Singh Badal condemned the alleged attack on the Sikh family and urged Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar to intervene in the matter.
The District Bar Association has demanded action against the family members.

The two groups allegedly fought after coming out of the restaurant on Thursday night, leading to injuries to both sides.
According to a complaint filed by the family, the law students misbehaved with them and hurt their religious sentiments. But the four students accused the family of attacking them with sharp-edged weapons. Counter FIRs were registered in the case, the police said.
On a complaint filed by Akash, who is also a lawyer’s son, the police registered a case under the Indian Penal Code sections relating to attempt to murder and voluntarily causing hurt against Joginder Singh, Tarnpreet Singh and two others.

On the family’s complaint, the police registered a case under sections relating to promoting enmity between different groups, voluntarily causing hurt and assault with the intent to outrage the modesty of a woman.
Both sides met the Superintendent of Police and demanded action.
The District Bar Association held a meeting on Sunday and demanded immediate arrests in the case.
Sikh representatives from Hisar, Chandigarh and Delhi met here in a gurdwara, demanding cancellation of the attempt to murder case against the family. They also wanted the SHO of the local police station sacked.
Mr. Badal issued a statement and asked Mr. Khattar to take appropriate action.
