The Uttar Pradesh Government on Sunday transferred Om Prakash Srivastava, the Superintendent of Police in Fatehpur, after incidents of communal violence were reported from the area.
While Mr Srivastava has been sent to police headquarters in Allahabad, Rajiv Malhatora, Additional SP posted in Lucknow, has been sent to Fatehpur as the replacement, it said.
The Superintendent of Police Sonebhadra, Shiv Shankar Yadav, who is on leave, has been replaced by Commandant, PAC, Kanpur, Ram Lal Verma, the release added.
