Mr. Munde added that the state and lakhs of farmers are suffering from serious drought."The situation has gone from bad to worse due to unseasonal rains. Attending the wedding at such a time is nothing but purely disrespect shown to farmers," he said.

Mr. Fadnavis however had said at the airport while leaving for the wedding that the discussion on farming distress will not be ignored and one should not find other meanings as he is attending the wedding in Nagpur. He had gone to attend the wedding of nephew of BJP's Rajya Sabha MP Ajay Sancheti.

On Tuesday, the opposition had demanded discussion on unseasonal rains on in the state and the damage caused to crops due to it.
