Dy. collector held on charge of raping daughter

The Patna police on Saturday arrested a senior deputy collector posted in Patna for allegedly raping his 14-year-old daughter. A case was filed under Section 376 (punishment for rape) based on his daughter’s complaint, who studies in a city school.

According to the statement, the collector, who has denied the charge, was sexually assaulting his daughter for the past two months. The mother discovered the truth and lodged a complaint, Patna senior Superintendent of Police Manu Maharaj told The Hindu . He added that preliminary medical reports “did not deny” the possibility of rape.
