: Adopting technology to serve the public better, and using manpower and resources efficiently through mobile applications has won DDA the E-India Award.

The land agency bagged the award under the category of Digital India IT initiatives in the field of “land protection and engineering projects”.

The award was received by Mr. V.S. Tomar, Director (Systems) DDA in Mumbai at the e-INDIA SUMMIT 2015 in Mumbai.

The apps that won the DDA the award are: ‘Vacant land photo uploading system’ wherein officials of the land and engineering department upload photographs of vacant land to keep a check on encroachment.

The second award winning app was the ‘measurement books’ for e-filing of measurement of engineering projects for exact estimation of parameters and project requirements.

Earlier this year, the DDA had announced that it is working towards complete computerisation of its office. In September, the Vice-Chairman announced the idea to launch mobile apps for better public feedback on quality of construction of its flats, and land management.
