Night curfew has been imposed on the border areas of Sibsagar district in Assam, along Arunachal Pradesh and Nagaland, to prevent movements of militants and anti-social elements.
The areas under the Haluating, Geleki, Nazira, Simaluguri, Sonari and Sapekhaiti police stations will come under curfew from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. for the next 60 days from Friday, official sources said.
These areas are used by extremists and anti-social elements as a corridor for their movements, the sources said.
