The Centralised Admissions Committee (CENTAC) will begin the issue of application forms for engineering and biology-based courses from May 25, a notification said here on Wednesday.
The CENTAC conducts the admission process for all government quota seats in the various engineering and medical colleges in the Union Territory. According to the notification, the forms would be available in select post offices in all the four regions from May 25. The forms could also be obtained from the PEC Co-operative Credit Society.
However, online access to the application forms would begin on May 20. They could be accessed at www.centacprof.net.in.

The forms would be available to students till June 18 online and till June 22 in person from the mentioned places.
Students, who have completed higher secondary or an equivalent qualifying exam and those who are awaiting the results, could apply to if they fulfil the eligibility criteria for age and minimum marks. The last date for the submission of applications is June 22.
The committee has also said in the notification that students from outside the Union Territory would not be eligible for admissions to MBBS courses offered through CENTAC in government and self-financing medical colleges in 2011-12.

As regards the government medical college, the government would surrender 15 per cent of the seats to the Directorate General of Health Services, which would conduct a separate counselling for other State students based on the performance in the all-India entrance examinations.
Officials at CENTAC said that seats offered through CENTAC in self-financing colleges was not open to other state students as the number of seats available was minimum and opening the admission to all students would put students from the Union Territory at a disadvantage.
One of the first decisions taken by the new government was to sponsor tuition fee of all students who are admitted to various government and private colleges through the CENTAC counselling process.
