CBI team to reach Guwahati today

Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi on Monday said a team of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) would arrive in the State on Tuesday at the request of his government to assess the chit fund scam of the Saradha Group and other chit fund companies duping their investors.

He said the State government had already ordered a probe by the Criminal Investigation Department(CID). So far, 246 cases have been registered against 128 companies including Saradha Group, Rose Valley, Unipay 2 U, Jeevan Suraksha, Prayag, Abyss Assam Group Co, Basil International Ltd and Daffodils Group of Companies, he said.
