The CBI said on Sunday that the weapon used in the murder of RTI activist Shehla Masood was recovered at the instance of Saqib Ali, who is accused of hiring contract killers to murder her.
Agency sources said that it had recovered a country-made pistol (katta), but whether it was the murder weapon or not could be said only after the forensic tests.
Shehla was murdered in front of her house in Bhopal on August 16, 2011.
