Hearing a plea filed by actor Salman Khan, the Bombay High Court on Monday continued the restrain order against news channel Headlines Today , barring it from running a programme named ‘The Hit and Run case’. The court, in its interim order, has directed the channel to not publish the programme on internet too, till it passes further order. The matter will be heard next on June 16.

Actor Salman Khan had moved the court against TV Today Network alleging that the programme run by Headlines Today on May 21 first was defamatory in nature and sought to “dramatise and sensationalise a criminal case”. The defence failed to appear in the case on Monday as well.

After the hearing, Justice S C Gupte said, “The order passed on May 30 to continue as ad-interim order till further orders are passed by this court. Place the notice of motion for hearing on June 16.”
