BJP neither anti-farmer nor pro-corporate: Amit Shah

Bharatiya Janata Party president Amit Shah on Sunday said the party was neither anti-farmer nor pro-corporate.

Addressing a meeting of the State party unit here, he said the Modi government was promoting the ‘Make in India’ campaign to generate employment and remove poverty.

The government launched the ‘Pradhan Mantri MUDRA (Micro Units Development and Refinance Agency) Yojana’ to give loans to small entrepreneurs, he said. He also cited the ‘Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana (PMJDY)’ and said that even after all these schemes the BJP has been tagged as “anti-farmer” and “a party which served corporate interests.”

He told the party workers that they must not believe the “false allegations spread about the BJP’s functioning at the Centre” and that they “must have the confidence that the party has not done anything that must make them feel ashamed.”

Of the 10 crore new members the BJP would form 10 lakh sakriya sadasya (active members) and 5 lakh special members including scientists, historians. To attain this, the BJP has planned a Sampark Abhiyan between May and July and a Prashikshan Abhiyan between August and October, Mr. Shah said.

“Soon there will be a BJP office in every district in the country. The ones already existing will be upgraded with libraries and good communication facilities,” he said.

Mr. Shah appealed to the party men to work hard to win the 2017 Uttarakhand Assembly elections.
