Bihar govt donates Rs 5 cr to quake-hit Sikkim

The Bihar government on Thursday gave Rs five crore financial aid to quake-hit Sikkim for relief and rescue operations.

“We have decided to donate Rs five crore from CM Relief Fund to Sikkim for helping the quake-hit victims,” Chief Minister Nitish Kumar said in Patna.

He said he has also asked Chief Secretary Anup Mukherjee to get in touch with his Sikkim counterpart to find out whether they required any special assistance from Bihar.

“People of Bihar are with Sikkim residents in this hour of sorrow...We will reach all-possible help to the government of Sikkim for the affected people,” the Chief Minister said.
