Beed blast due to personal enmity, say police

The police have ruled out terror angle in the radio bomb blast at Koregaon village of Kaij tehsil in Beed district of Maharashtra last week. Four members of a family were injured in the blast.

The police, who arrested Aba alias Rajabhau Giri of Kendrewadi village in Ambejogai, said Giri had personal enmity with Gopinath Tarkase of his village. Mr. Tarkase had filed a police complaint against him. Giri put some explosives in a radio set and wrote the name of Mr. Tarkase on it. He then left it in an MRCTC bus in Ambejogai. The bus conductor, Om Nimbalkar, took it home and when he tried to switch it on, it exploded, injuring him, his wife, mother and a son.

The injured were admitted to JJ hospital in Mumbai.
