The autopsy of a 22-year-old man, who was allegedly killed in the police firing during violence in the Walled City on Friday night, was conducted at the mortuary of Sawai Man Singh Government Hospital in Jaipur on Monday. The curfew clamped in four police station areas in the city continued for the third consecutive day.

The body of Mohammed Rais alias Adil was handed over to his family members after the post-mortem, which was carried out under the watch of a Sub-Divisional Magistrate. Police said a limited number of persons would be allowed to attend his burial at the Ghat Gate graveyard here.

Earlier, there there was a deadlock over post-mortem of the youth's body, as the next of his kin had refused to accept his body while demanding suspension of the staff of Ramganj police station, compensation and a government job for a family member.

An altercation between a police constable and a couple during a routine vehicle check in the Ramganj area on Friday evening snowballed into a major law and order situation, as hundreds of people gathered outside the police station and pelted stones. About 12 persons, including some policemen, were injured and several vehicles were torched in the violence.
