Within two days after vandalising the BJP office in Ukhrul district on Thursday night, armed persons suspected to be members of the National Socialist Council of Nagalim (Isak-Muivah) struck the party’s office at Chandel, a border district on Saturday night. The district functionaries of the BJP have lodged a formal complaint with the police station. The state leaders are in touch with the national leaders to approach the Election Commission.
Armed persons suspected to be members of the NSCN(IM) have been making their presence. Deputy Chief Minister and Pradesh Congress Committee Gaikhangam Gangmei alleged during an election meeting at Kakching which falls under the reserved Outer Manipur Parliamentary seat on Saturday, that the cadres of the NSCN(IM) are threatening the people to vote for the Naga People’s Front candidate Soso Lorho.
According to the complaint lodged with the police station at Japhou by Willingshon, president of the Chandel district BJP, the unknown persons raided the office located at Japhou market at 9:30 pm on Saturday. They pulled down the party flag before entering the office which was also vandalised. He told reporters that since there was power cut the exact damage figures could not be arrived at.

Police acknowledged that an FIR has been registered. Necessary investigation would be done. But it is easier said than done since no progress was made in the investigation into the vandalism in the BJP office in Ukhrul district.
Mr.Willingshon further told reporters that on Thursday that one person identified as Joy, who is a worker of the Naga People’s Front, warned over phone that the BJP desist from all election related activities.
