Targets media for showing U.P.’s law and order in poor light

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav on Tuesday slammed the Bharatiya Janata Party for ‘vitiating the communal atmosphere in the State and rupturing the social fabric.’ Mr. Yadav said the BJP’s ideology ( soch ) had created disharmony at all levels, be it the Vidhan Sabha, office, or the police stations.

Stating that loudspeakers had become the medium of creating communal discord, he lampooned the BJP for its “love jihad” campaign. He lauded the police for thwarting the party’s designs in some cases of alleged “love jihad.” He was speaking at the inauguration of 100 administrative and housing buildings of the police department at his residence on Tuesday.

Mr. Yadav also targeted the media, particularly the electronic one, for its reporting on the law and order situation in the State.
