Three militants killed in Manipur

Three militants were killed in separate encounters in Imphal East and Thoubal districts of Manipur, officials said today.

While one militant was killed in an encounter with the combined forces in Thoubal district today, two insurgents were killed in Imphal East district last night, they said.

An unidentified militant was killed in an encounter with combined forces comprising Thoubal police commandos and Assam Rifles personnel at Komnao area in Thoubal district early this morning.

In another encounter, two militants were killed at Kamoching area in Imphal East district last night.

Arms and ammunition were recovered from both the spots.

Fifteen persons have been killed in insurgency-related incidents in Manipur this year.
