Punjab can’t demand royalty on water: Hooda

Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda reiterated on Saturday that his regime would ensure that the State got its legitimate share of water from Punjab as it was pursuing its case vigorously.

Talking to media persons in Rohtak, he said that Haryana had put its viewpoint strongly at all forums so far as inter-state issues were concerned.

He also criticised the demand of royalty on water by Punjab Government and said “it has no legal right.''

The Parkash Singh Badal regime in Punjab was trying to politicise the issue, he further asserted.

He added that his regime was making all out efforts to get a separate High Court for the State in Chandigarh.
