Protests rock J&K as student leader murdered in Rajouri

A student leader was murdered by unidentified persons in Rajouri town leading to protests from locals, police said today.

President of the Rajouri Degree College Association Ali Sagar was stabbed to death in Rajouri town last night by 3-4 persons when he was returning home, Rajouri Senior Superintendent of Police R. K. Jhalla said, adding a case has been registered against four persons and investigation is on.

The incident of murder of the student leader triggered protests in Rajouri town as students and people blocked traffic on Sher-e-Kashmir Bridge in Rajouri town and sat on a dharna. They also demanded immediate arrest of the accused involved in the incident.

The students of Degree College and schools observed shut down in protest against the incident.
