President to present D. Litt.degree to Sheikh Hasina on Sep 21

President Pratibha Patil would present an honorary D. Litt. degree to Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina during the eighth convocation of Tripura University to be held here on September 21.

University Vice-Chancellor Arunoday Saha told reporters that he met the President at Rashtrapati Bhavan on Tuesday and formally handed her the invitation letter to address the eighth convocation of the varsity and a proposal to hand over the degree to the Bangladesh Prime Minister.

The President has accepted the invitation, he said,

Tripura University, a central university, will confer the honorary degree to Hasina at the convocation, which will also be attended by Governor D Y Patil.
