NRHM woman employees join Meena’s agitation

Several women employees of National Rural Health Mission (NRHM), who are demanding permanent job under the scheme, today joined the ongoing dharna by Meena community leader Kirori Lal Meena and his wife and Rajasthan minster Golma Devi here.

The NRHM employees were on a separate dharna at statue circle to press for their demand of employment regularisation yesterday, but police chased away them last night following which they joined the Meena couple today near civil lines to strongly raise their voice.

Meena, who is also Dausa MP, said their agitation will continue till their demands are met.

He also demanded justice for NRHM employees and assured them his support.

Meena and Golma Devi are sitting a on dharna here since Thursday last demanding steps to curb corruption and provide employment opportunities for tribal people and compensation for the families of those who allegedly died due to starvation in tribal region of Udaipur.

Meanwhile, Golma Devi, State minister for Khadi and Village Industries in Gehlot government, today announced to convert their dharna into indefinite agitation.

She submitted a memorandum to Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot in this regard.
