N. Rangasamy files his nomination

President of All India N.R. Congress N. Rangasamy on Saturday filed nomination for the polls. He filed his papers for contesting from Indira Nagar and Kadirgamam constituencies with Returning Officer G. Malarkannan at the Labour Department here.

Several Ministers in the current Cabinet filed nomination on Friday. According to the affidavit of Public Health Minister A. Namasivayam, who is contesting from the Villianur constituency, published on the Elections Department website, the total value of his movable assets was Rs. 52, 86,881 and those in his wife Vasanthi's name was Rs. 87,04,123. He had immovable assets to the tune of Rs .5,13, 62,525 and his wife, Rs. 84,71,362.

Revenue Minister Malladi Krishna Rao, contesting from the Yanam constituency, declared assets to the tune of Rs. 1, 29, 64,556 and Welfare Minister M. Kandasamy, who filed his nomination for the Embalam segment, had total assets worth Rs. 1,70,20,105 in his and his spouse's name.

Others who had filed nomination included Public Works Minister M.O.H.F. Shahjahan for Kalapet and members of the Pattali Makkal Katchi R.K.R. Anantharaman and Arul Murugan for the Manaveli and Mannadipet constituencies respectively.
