M.P. does not have surplus tigers: Minister

Indicating that Madhya Pradesh might not give big cats to the Sariska reserve in Rajasthan, Forest Minister Sartaj Singh on Saturday said there were no surplus tigers in the State.

The statement assumes significance given that Union Environment and Forest Minister Jairam Ramesh has written to the Chief Ministers of Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra, requesting them to give a few tigers to Sariska.
