Amid a fresh rebellion within the Congress, Meghalaya Chief Minister D.D. Lapang on Saturday admitted that there was “pressure” by disgruntled MLAs seeking accommodation in the Cabinet.

“Naturally, there is pressure... everybody wants to be a Minister. But we have to think about our friends [Independent MLAs] who supported us during the formation of the government,” Mr. Lapang said.

Asked if he would make changes in his Ministry, he said, “Let's see how big these voices are. Since they have gone to Delhi, I may be guided by the High Command's view. As of now there is nothing on my table.”
