Jharkhand on Thursday announced to foot Rs.11 per cooking gas cylinder as subsidy, reducing its price to Rs.322.
“A meeting chaired by Chief Minister Shibu Soren on Wednesday night decided to give subsidy of Rs.11 on a gas cylinder,” Deputy Chief Minister Raghuvar Das said at a press conference here.
Earlier, the state government had been reportedly giving Rs.41 as subsidy on a gas cylinder, but withdrew it on March 29, before announcing the revised subsidy of Rs.11.

Blaming the Centre for the price rise, Mr. Das claimed that Jharkhand was the only state in the country to provide 35 kg rice at Re 1 and salt at 25 paise per kg to BPL families every month.- PTI
