Seeking a CBI enquiry into the recent murder of BJP MLA Raj Kishore Keshari, a petition was filed on Monday in the Patna High Court by the mother of Rupam Pathak who had allegedly stabbed the legislator to death on January four last.
In her petition, Kumud Mishra also urged the court to bring into CBI probe ambit the case in which Ms. Pathak had charged the slain MLA and his associate Bipin Rai with raping her before the murder.
Ms. Mishra prayed to the court that only the CBI could investigate impartially and thoroughly as some powerful people, including politicians, were trying to influence the investigation being carried out by the Bihar police.

The court was urged to issue direction for a CBI enquiry into the complaints lodged at Kajanchihat police station in Purnia district by Ms. Pathak on May 28, 2010 under section 376 of the IPC against Keshari and Rai as well as the murder case lodged against Pathak on January 4, 2011, it said.
Ms. Pathak’s mother further urged the high court to direct the Bihar police to lodge a case against those persons responsible for assaulting Ms. Pathak after the death of the MLA on January 4 last.
Ms. Mishra also prayed that the respondents be directed to unlock Ms. Pathak’s house and permit the family members to use the same freely.
